- SceneTalk is a personal learning tool; it does not promise examination results or official curriculum certification.
- Your learning records are local. There is currently no active payment or subscription checkout in the app.
- These terms do not take away mandatory consumer rights or replace applicable Apple platform terms.
1. Scope and acceptance
These terms apply to use of the SceneTalk iPhone app and this website. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. By using the app or website, you agree to these terms to the extent an agreement is recognized by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the relevant service.
If you are not legally able to enter into an agreement where you live, use SceneTalk with a parent or guardian who can provide the involvement or consent required by law.
2. The learning experience
SceneTalk offers English vocabulary activities through illustrated scenes, system pronunciation, examples, saved words, a sticker journal, review practice, and learning insights. The features and content available depend on the version installed on your device.
Learning stages are a product learning path, not a statement of official school or examination coverage. Educational content may contain errors or omissions, and individual learning outcomes vary. SceneTalk does not guarantee a particular score, qualification, fluency level, or educational result.
Some stages and features may be marked as not yet available. An illustration or plan shown in an interface is not a promise that a future feature is currently accessible.
3. Permitted use and intellectual property
You may use SceneTalk for lawful personal learning, subject to applicable platform rules and the rights granted with your copy of the app. Rights not expressly granted remain with their respective owners.
Please do not unlawfully redistribute the app, sell or commercially republish its illustrations or learning materials, remove ownership notices, interfere with its operation, or use it in a way that infringes another person’s rights. Restrictions do not apply where mandatory law or a relevant open-source license expressly permits an activity.
SceneTalk branding and original illustrations are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party and open-source materials retain their own licenses. Vocabulary data includes ECDICT under the MIT License; source and license information are available in the app’s content information.
4. Your device and learning records
The current app stores learning progress, saved words, journal information, and preferences locally on the device. No SceneTalk account is required and no SceneTalk cloud-sync service is currently provided.
You control device access, storage, and any operating-system backup settings. Removing the app, resetting progress, changing devices, or an operating-system issue may affect local records. The app does not promise to recover records that are no longer available on the device or in a backup you control.
Resetting learning progress within the app keeps saved words and preferences, as described in the app and the Privacy Policy.
5. Pro and payments
In the current version, Pro is being prepared. Monthly, annual, and lifetime choices are displayed as plan options, but prices and purchase or restore-purchase transactions are not enabled. Selecting a plan alone does not create a purchase, trial, payment obligation, or recurring subscription.
If paid features are offered in a future version, the applicable price, duration, renewal conditions, cancellation process, and purchase terms will be shown before you make a purchase. That future offer will be governed by the information shown at the time and any applicable platform terms. No price or free-trial period is promised by this website.
6. Apple services and external websites
Your use of an iPhone, system voices, the App Store, and other Apple services is also governed by the relevant Apple terms. If you obtain SceneTalk through the App Store, the applicable app license, including Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement where applicable, continues to apply. These website terms do not replace that license.
External links may lead to websites with their own content, policies, and terms. SceneTalk does not operate or control those websites. You decide whether to visit them; opening them may require a network connection.
7. Availability and updates
SceneTalk may be updated to improve content, compatibility, accessibility, or security. Features may differ by device, operating-system version, language, and the voices available on your device. The website demonstration is illustrative and does not save learning progress to the app.
No promise is made that every feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available. Changes to material paid entitlements, if any are later offered, remain subject to applicable purchase terms and law.
8. Responsibility and your legal rights
Use SceneTalk as a learning aid and check important information independently when needed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided as available, and no particular learning outcome is promised.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, limits mandatory consumer protections, or removes rights and remedies you may have under applicable law. Where a provision is not enforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the website at any time, and you can remove the app using your device’s controls. You can also reset learning progress from the app. Review the Privacy Policy and your backup settings before removing records you want to keep.
Any future purchase or subscription would need to be managed under its own disclosed terms and the relevant platform’s controls; removing an app is not, by itself, a method for canceling a subscription that may be offered in the future.
10. Changes and related documents
These terms may be updated when the app, website, or applicable requirements change. The update date above identifies this version. Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law.
The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. English and Chinese versions are available through the language control on this page.
