- SceneTalk has no required account, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics in the current app.
- Learning progress and preferences are stored on your device, not uploaded to a SceneTalk server.
- This website remembers only your selected language in browser storage. Its hosting service still receives the connection data needed to deliver pages.
1. What this policy covers
This policy describes the current SceneTalk iPhone application and this website. It explains how information is handled when you learn in the app, visit these pages, or follow an external link. It applies to the features currently available, rather than features that may be introduced later.
The app and the website work differently: learning records are stored within the app on your device, while visiting a website necessarily involves communicating with the website’s hosting infrastructure.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores information needed to provide your learning experience:
| Information | Purpose | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Mastered words and review schedules | Show progress and schedule practice | App storage on the current device |
| Saved words and journal stickers | Keep your vocabulary collection and journal | App storage on the current device |
| Daily learning activity | Calculate daily goals, streaks, and learning trends | App storage on the current device |
| Preferences | Remember daily goals, pronunciation, learning stage, and sound preferences | App storage on the current device |
The current app does not upload these records to a SceneTalk server and does not provide a SceneTalk account or cloud-sync service.
3. Information the current app does not collect
The current app does not require your name, email address, phone number, or an account. It does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, cross-app advertising tracking, or a data-broker integration.
SceneTalk does not request access to your microphone, camera, photo library, contacts, or precise location for its current learning features. Pronunciation uses iOS speech synthesis; it does not record your voice or provide speech-recognition scoring.
4. This website and browser storage
This website uses browser local storage to remember whether you selected English or Chinese. English is used for a first visit when no language has been selected. You can change the language at any time using the language control, or remove the saved preference in your browser’s site-data settings. If browser storage is unavailable, the pages still work and internal links can carry the selected language.
The interactive word-matching demonstration keeps its state only in the current page. Reloading the page clears the demonstration. The website does not submit your demo choices to a SceneTalk server.
No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or third-party analytics scripts are included in this website’s source. Images and scripts are served from the same website.
Like other websites, delivery of these pages requires the hosting service to receive connection information, such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, and technical browser or connection information. Hosting infrastructure may process security and delivery logs. The existence and retention of those logs depend on the hosting environment; the app’s local learning records are not attached to website requests.
5. iOS services and external links
iOS provides speech synthesis, device settings, and other platform capabilities. Available voices and any system-managed voice downloads depend on your device and Apple’s services. Device-level diagnostics and backups, when enabled by you, are controlled by the applicable platform settings.
Opening a link to Apple, a dictionary source, a reference publisher, or another external website takes you to a service governed by its own privacy practices. SceneTalk does not control those services. An ordinary website request may disclose connection information to that website; local learning records are not deliberately added to the link.
6. Retention, resetting, and deletion
App records remain in local app storage until you reset them, remove the app, or the operating system removes the relevant data. In the app, Profile → Reset learning progress clears mastery, review schedules, activity, and journal progress, while keeping saved words and preferences.
Removing the app may remove its local records. Copies included in operating-system backups, if any, are governed by your device or backup-service settings; deleting the app does not necessarily delete an existing system backup. There is no separate SceneTalk cloud account to delete.
For the website, clear site data in your browser to remove its saved language preference. Demo progress is cleared when the page is reloaded.
7. Younger learners
SceneTalk includes learning paths suitable for younger learners. The current app has no required registration, social profiles, messaging, behavioral advertising, or forms for a child to send personal information. It does not knowingly collect a child’s personal information through its current learning features.
Parents or guardians should supervise use as appropriate and manage device restrictions, external browsing, and platform settings. This policy does not replace parental choices or the protections provided by the operating system.
8. Your choices and device security
You can review your learning records within the app, change preferences, reset learning progress, remove the app, and clear the website’s browser storage. Keep your device protected and consider your backup settings before removing local information.
Local storage reduces the need to send learning data elsewhere, but no storage method or device can be guaranteed completely secure. No statement in this policy limits privacy rights or remedies that apply under mandatory law.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app adds features that change how information is handled, this policy will be updated to describe them. The date above identifies this version. Material changes requiring a notice or permission will be handled before the relevant new processing takes place, as required by applicable law.
The website’s Terms of Use describe the general conditions for using SceneTalk.
